Longpan Park

A grassy plateau above the Pacific with sweeping views along the coast. The land drops away sharply, and on windy days the sea below is a deep, dramatic blue.

The visit

Longpan is about space and wind and the sound of the Pacific below. The plateau is open and grassy, with views that stretch along the coast in both directions. Bring a jacket if you come for sunrise.

History and context

Longpan is a grassy plateau where the land drops sharply to the Pacific. Once a military area, it is now known for sunrise and long coastal views.

Longpan was a military training area for many years, which kept the plateau open and undeveloped. After public access improved, its grassland and coastal views made it one of Kenting’s favourite sunrise spots.
